Wednesday Mar 29, 2023

In this podcast, the host MSgt Nate Gladdin and guests MSgt Katlin Cardello and MSgt Corbin Lundberg provide an in-depth look at what it's like to serve in the Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve.
The Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve are both part-time components of the Air Force, which means that their members typically serve one weekend a month and two weeks during the year, in addition to any deployments or activations. This allows individuals to balance their military service with their civilian careers or education. This episode explores the unique challenges and advantages of these two components of the military, drawing from their own experiences and insights. Understanding the Guard and Reserve before it comes time to separate from active duty is important! These are both excellent options to continue your path of service.

A Cognitive Approach

Tuesday Mar 14, 2023

Tuesday Mar 14, 2023

In this episode of The Debrief, MSgt Nate Gladdin hosted Cognitive Marine. As a leader on the Lethal Minds team, he provides insights into the China Threat, logistics, and air power in a future conflict. The conversation delves into the cognitive approach to warfare and how the military needs to change its thinking to adapt to the modern battlefield.
Given Cognitive Marine's background in supply, he emphasizes that logistics are a crucial aspect of military planning in the Pacific, and we must ensure that its logistics systems are robust and agile enough to support its troops in remote locations. He highlights the importance of foraging. Nate balances out this conversation with his emphasis and experience with airpower. As they say, bullets and planes don't fly without supply!Often you only see short clips of Cognitive Marine on Instagram or see him in a "live" every now and then. Don't miss this long-form conversation.

Tuesday Feb 14, 2023

Join our host Nate, alongside our guests MSgt John Daily, Ret. and Lt Col Russel Worth Parker, Ret., both Marines.
Russell Worth Parker, USMC (Ret.), only meant to be a Marine for four years, the point at which he left the active-duty Corps before returning in the wake of 9/11. His was a winding road that led him through corporate America and law school before he decided to resume active service to help establish the new Marine Special Operations Command and serve as a Marine Raider. After 27 years in the Corps, he is home in Wilmington, North Carolina, hunting and fishing and being a husband and father – and has, as he puts it, “fallen backwards into a writing career.” Parker’s work has been published in The New York Times, Garden & Gun, The Bitter Southerner, Backcountry Journal, Shooting Sportsman, Salt Magazine and military websites such as SOFLETE.com.
John Dailey, USMC (Ret.), served in the US Marine Corps from 1987 to 2008, retiring as a Master Sergeant.  During his career he served in a variety of infantry and reconnaissance units including 3rd and 5th Marine Regiments, 1st Force Reconnaissance Company, and 1st Special Operations Training Group. He was selected to serve as a Team Leader for Detachment One and was then tasked with assisting in the stand-up of the MARSOC Schoolhouse.  He is currently the Training and Education Branch Director for the Marine Raider Training Center. He became editor of The Raider Patch in 2016.
